Best Places For A Wailea Sunset

One of the best parts of Maui is watching the sun set into the ocean, turning the sky a vibrant array of colors. Wailea is one of the best places on the island to catch a sunset. We assembled this list of the best places to watch a sunset in Wailea, so you can get the most out of your evenings on Maui.

Secret Cove Beach

Wailea sunsets

Secret Cove Beach is a not so secret beach just beyond Wailea. This small beach is one of the prettiest places to watch the sunset and take pictures of it. With palm trees along the shore, jagged lava rocks in the water, and islands off in the distance, this spot is iconic Maui. There is a sandy beach where you can relax as the sun goes down or you can climb up the lava rocks for a higher view. Wherever you go, the sunset from this beach is spectacular.

Keawakapu Beach

Wailea sunset

If you're looking for a spectacular Wailea sunset, Keawakapu Beach is one of the best spots! Keawakapu is a long stretch of beach (close to a mile) where Wailea turns into Kihei. This beach offers unobstructed sunset views as the sun dips down between the West Maui Mountains and Lanai. You can't beat a peaceful sunset stroll in the sand down this beach.

The Andaz

Watching a Wailea sunset at the Andaz is a way to step things up a notch. The Andaz is an exceptional resort with a phenomenal view of the sunset. We recommend grabbing a refreshing drink or meal at Lehua Lounge while you kick back to watch the sun go down.

Po'olenalena

Sunsets in wailea

Our final, favorite place for a Wailea sunset is Po'olenalena Beach. Po'olenalena Beach is a quieter beach on the outskirts of Wailea. This beach offers plenty of room to spread out while relaxing in the sand as the sun goes down. The expansive view of the sunset away from the crowds is what make us love this sunset sunset location so much.
